Sanda and Jonathan and friends
Sanda: Sharing your house with us, allowing us to experience the beauty and peacefulness of this place, made us forget where we come from and allowed us all to enjoy our old and new friendships to the fullest.
What you have here is indeed special, and to be able to share it with our friends and family was a real honour.
I am leaving with peace and new strength to take on the ‘outside’ world.

Jonathan: We had a fantastic week with friends and family from the US, Croatia and Italy. Thanks to you for your initial tour and for assisting us to make this a very special week. Sanda and I look forward to sharing more wine and stories with you both in the future.

I am very greatful for our friendship and to realise that every time we see each other, we have been growing and experienced something more.

"Hey, what a lovely house" said Chantal. And who am I to counterdict her.
I just enjoyed playing "our little house", the full moon, candle light at the terrace upstairs, .. a very special place there!
From the moment that we entered the gate, under a sparkling sun, and especially when entering the house, we realised that we entered a different world. We were immediately impressed. An overwhelming impression that we carried with us the whole week. Everything on the house feels right. Until the 'instructions' that we received before leaving home. Just one comment: the alarm. It does not make a modest BIEP sound. No it is a frightening overwhelming sound that will even shock the deaf. Certainly when it happens in complete darkness and streaming rain.
Balini's surroundings realise all expectations. Nearby Motovun is most charming; Groznjan is evenly beautiful (just to the right access road). And finally a request to further visitors to verify the following:
* Croates drive as chaotic as Italians, smoke like Turks, work as Slaves, drink as Germans, talk in a local slang that no-one understands, and look at your wife as if she is Claudia Schiffer.
* Livade is the place where you find the majority of the (male) population and especially the public administration, especially in and around the bar (near the local supermarket).
* Croate rain is fuller as what we know in Belgium.
* Truffles are the best what there is (of course after Claudia schiffer).

Bienvenuti a Balini!
More words were not needed to startle 11 road-trippers. Finally! We are there. All tiredness just faded away and made place for euforia. Even the last difficult curves were quickly forgotten. Our holiday could start and balini was ours.
Bongiorno Balini!
The first light getting through the curtains. It indicated that the sun was happy. Once outside the garden was greeting us. If wanted to make a first dive into the pool? Or just buzz a bit further with the bees? Waking up was never so nice. But then the dilemma started: what to do next? All had ideas and tried to convince the others. Who would win today?
The garden with all its comfy corners, flavoured with rosemary and mint. A fresh dive into the pool. The sea was tempting with scuba diving between the little fish. And even neighbouring towns were tempting: cosy little streets, art and extra-ordinary views. Luckily we had time enough. Balini does not have any losers.
And when the sun slowly ended its working day, then the moon and the stars could start their shift. Balini could still remember another perfect day and then falls asleep from its own quiet. See you in our dreams!

Thanks a lot for giving us the chance to make use of this unbelievable house. We felt at home from the first minute that we arrived. And today we are sad to have to leave. We will come back. That is certain. You really did an amazing job with the house. So much detail!!!
Just graduated
First and foremost, our compliments with the way you decorated this beautiful house. And the mosaics, really the cream on the cake.... . We really enjoyed the terraces, the decoration, the pool (... and trampoline), the luxury ... . On one hand, we enjoyed the quiet. On the other hand we thus were able to make noise, a lot, with no neighbours around to complain.
The regular visits of the local fauna, small and big, caused great hilarity.
Also the location is stunning: we could make beautiful walks and visit the nearby ruins, thus maintaining our condition and cultural level. We made lovely excursions to Motovun, Groznjan, ... .
The bottom line is that we really want to thank you for giving us the chance to stay here. We really enjoyed ourselves, certainly also because of this great beautiful situated house.
Thanks also for the nice surprise: tagliatelli with truffle and the great luxurious experience in your spa in Oprtalj!!!!!

Paradise does exist! That we are now convinced of.
Our first trip to Istria. It was a success. Provence, Tuscany, ... we got it all here, with a lot of authenticity extra.
And the house: as if renovated and decorated for the specialised press. It made our picture complete.
Thanks (especially from the kids) for the box with Lego (they played the whole week with it and forgot the toys we brought with us).
We will surely come back, and bring our bikes and bike-friends along!!!
